A new dating platform claims to be the answer to the problem of unsolicited nude pictures. Users of BARE Dating can upload a photo but choose how much of it to reveal—from just their eyes, to a glimpse of midriff, to a pair of knees. They can then reveal them bit by bit as they match with and get chatting with people. Founded by Alex Sergent, a former journalist and founder of dating events company VEE , Gillian Myhill, and Phil Beesley, the platform aims to provide a safe, no-pressure environment in which to match with potential dates and exchange explicit pictures only if you want to. To be in a flirtatious conversation with someone - and slowly revealing yourself to that person little by little is a very sexy thing. Examples included being propositioned for sex very early in the conversation or otherwise being made to feel uneasy or unsafe. Any woman who has spent time on a dating app can testify to the volume of unwanted images and requests for explicit pictures, but is there actually a market for an app that gears itself around this single issue?
